Abstract
This action research aims to examine the current utilization of cloud storage services among college students at St. Mary's College Inc., Quezon City (SMCIQC), with the overarching goal of identifying both the benefits and challenges associated with their use and developing a strategic action plan to optimize the integration and application of cloud storage technologies in academic settings, thereby enhancing students' digital competencies and academic performance. Specifically, this research answers the following questions: 1. To what extent are college students at SMCIQC utilizing cloud storage services for academic purposes? 2. What are the perceived benefits and challenges associated with the use of cloud storage among these students? 3. What strategies can the institution implement to effectively promote and support the optimal use of cloud storage to enhance student learning outcomes? The paper utilizes a quantitative research design, which is ideal for using numerical and statistical data to answer the research problem. The design is also appropriate as it examines objective experiences associated with the participants. The information is analyzed through reliable statistical tools and methods to acquire objective findings of the study. Quantitative studies have multiple design methodologies that may be adopted. A good example is the descriptive design. This action research utilizes the descriptive design, which aims to assess the characteristics of the target population. The results and findings highlighted multiple implications for students, administrators, and developers. Cloud storage and other cloud computing technologies were shown to have tremendous benefits for students. The use of these technologies enhanced student outcomes. There were, however, underlying issues that impeded the use of these technologies. This section listed the different recommendations that became evident based on the research findings. The different recommendations were based on the implications of this study. A collaborative effort by all stakeholders on the ways that these technologies could be adopted in education supported their use. The challenges that students experienced were also addressed with the commitment of all stakeholders. The successes of cloud computing within businesses and industries encouraged a similar focus across the education sector, which allowed students to graduate with better digital literacy skills and better academic performance.
