Abstract

This study aims to explore the transformative power of theatrical stage plays and analyze their impact on BS Tourism Management students. The research investigates how participation in stage performances contributes to students’ personal growth and professional development. The study emphasizes the role of theatrical involvement in enhancing soft skills, particularly communication, emotional intelligence, and collaborative competence, which are crucial in the tourism and hospitality industry. This study employs a descriptive research design. It outlines the respondents of the study, the sampling technique used, the construction and validation of the research instrument, and the procedures for administration, retrieval, and statistical treatment of the data. The study targets BS Tourism Management students who have participated in theatrical stage plays. The results of the study indicate that involvement in stage plays positively affects students’ social interaction skills, emotional awareness, and self-confidence. Participants reported increased comfort in public speaking, improved empathy, and heightened group collaboration. These outcomes suggest a significant relationship between theatrical participation and the development of interpersonal and emotional skills relevant to tourism-related careers. The findings affirm that theatrical stage plays serve as effective tools for fostering key competencies among tourism students. Participation in such activities enhances students’ ability to communicate clearly, work cooperatively, and connect emotionally with others—traits essential for engaging with diverse clients and providing quality service in the tourism sector. The study recommends integrating theatrical exposure into co-curricular programs to enrich student learning and industry readiness.
