Abstract
This study explores student perceptions of a digitally designed uniform for professional civil engineers, with a focus on its safety, originality, and practicality. As the field of engineering evolves in the digital age, there is growing interest in innovations that can enhance both function and professional image, including the integration of digital features into uniforms. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed to examine the perceptions of both professional and student civil engineers toward the concept of a digital uniform. Data were gathered through structured survey questionnaires distributed to selected respondents. Survey responses from five participants, consisting of seasoned professionals and recent graduates, indicated a generally positive view of the proposed digital uniform. The results showed high ratings for visibility (Grand Mean = 4.28) and modern design (Grand Mean = 4.28), along with favorable impressions of its originality (Grand Mean = 3.84) and overall effectiveness and feasibility (Grand Mean = 4.04). These findings suggest a strong potential for acceptance of the digital uniform within the civil engineering field. The study concludes that digital uniforms can enhance the safety, functionality, and professional appearance of civil engineers. While initial perceptions are positive, further research and design refinement are necessary to achieve broader acceptance and standardization. The findings support the integration of innovation into professional attire, reflecting the evolving role of technology in engineering practice.
