Abstract

This study examines how the expansion of learning platforms for Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences students at Bestlink College of the Philippines is transforming education. These platforms deliver personalized content, interactive activities, and immediate feedback, thereby enhancing academic performance and fostering critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills. However, challenges such as digital inequalities, limited resources for platform development, and potential impacts on student well‑being are also evident. To optimize platform implementation, digital literacy instruction, educator professional development, and robust data privacy measures are essential. An evaluative quantitative research design is employed to assess the impact of learning platforms on student engagement. A cluster sampling technique is used to select 200 Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences students. Data are collected through a structured survey questionnaire designed to measure engagement indicators such as participation, knowledge retention, and technology accessibility. Statistical analysis of weighted means and frequencies is conducted to interpret the results. Findings revealed that the learning platform improved knowledge retention and encouraged active participation in academic tasks. However, many students experienced technical difficulties and uneven access to devices, which hindered their ability to engage fully. A lack of contextually relevant content was also reported, contributing to occasional declines in academic performance. The study highlighted critical gaps in existing platform content and digital access. As a result, content audits were undertaken to correct inaccuracies and update materials, and efforts were made to integrate more contextually relevant resources. Additionally, targeted interventions addressed the digital divide by improving device availability and offering time‑management workshops to enhance student productivity. These measures collectively increased critical evaluation skills and engagement levels, demonstrating the importance of continuous platform refinement and support structures in digital education.
