Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of community-based intervention programs in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, aimed at rehabilitating children in conflict with the law (CICL). It focuses on parenting programs, education, vocational training, and community interventions. The research highlights the importance of a holistic approach involving social workers, families, and the community to achieve sustainable rehabilitation and reintegration outcomes. To understand the effectiveness of diverse community-based intervention programs for CICL, a structured research approach was employed. This chapter outlines the methodology, including research design, respondent selection, sampling techniques, instrument construction and validation, data collection procedures, statistical treatment, and ethical considerations. The findings showed that parenting programs are effective, with a score of 4.1, though parental attendance remains a challenge. Implementing flexible scheduling, home-based learning, or digital platforms, such as recorded sessions or online support groups, could improve participation. Community-based interventions scored 4.3, indicating they are very effective; these programs should be expanded with more resources, trained facilitators, and partnerships with local organizations to enhance outreach and sustainability. Educational and vocational training programs scored 4.0, showing effectiveness, but strengthening these programs could provide juveniles with better opportunities for reintegration. Collaborations with businesses and training centers could improve job placement rates for program graduates. This chapter analyzes the study’s findings on the effectiveness of community-based interventions for CICL in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. It interprets how parenting programs, community-based support, and educational and vocational training contribute to the rehabilitation and reintegration of children in conflict with the law, highlighting strategies to enhance participation, sustainability, and long-term outcomes.
