Abstract

This study investigated the efficiency of traffic investigation procedures in Barangay Kaligayahan, Novaliches, Quezon City, and their broader implications for public health and economic stability. Given the significant number of individuals affected by traffic-related incidents each year, the research underscores the urgent need for prompt, accurate investigative processes and the development of reliable road infrastructure. Through a comprehensive review of relevant literature, The study examined existing policies, investigative techniques, and legal frameworks to identify critical challenges, such as inadequate evidence collection, weak inter-agency coordination, and procedural gaps. The study aimed to evaluate and enhance local traffic investigation practices, with the overarching goal of promoting safer urban communities, reducing road-related fatalities, and minimizing the economic burden caused by traffic accidents. This study employed a descriptive research design to assess the efficiency of traffic investigation procedures in Barangay Kaligayahan, Novaliches, Quezon City. Data were collected through a combination of surveys, interviews, and direct observations from a total of 50 purposively selected respondents, comprising traffic investigators, victims, and suspects. A validated survey questionnaire served as the primary data collection instrument, covering key components such as respondent profiles, the perceived efficiency of traffic investigations, existing challenges, and proposed areas for improvement. The collected data were analyzed using appropriate descriptive statistical tools, including frequency, percentage, weighted mean, Likert scale interpretation, and ranking methods, to draw meaningful insights and conclusions regarding the effectiveness of current traffic investigation practices. The findings were derived from the analysis and interpretation of data, using tabular presentations and relevant statistical tools. It outlines the demographic profile of the 50 respondents and examines core variables, including traffic investigation policies and procedures, investigative techniques, and legal frameworks. The chapter also identifies key issues hindering the efficiency of traffic investigations in Barangay Kaligayahan, Novaliches, Quezon City. Additionally, it explores proposed interventions aimed at strengthening investigative processes. The findings serve as a foundation for formulating evidence-based recommendations to improve the overall effectiveness, accuracy, and responsiveness of local traffic investigation practices. The discussion summarizes the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the study on the efficiency of traffic investigation in Barangay Kaligayahan, Novaliches, Quezon City. The study's findings identified several key challenges, including ineffective evidence collection, overwhelming caseloads, and inadequate communication channels between investigators and relevant agencies. Respondents emphasized the urgent need for capacity enhancement through specialized training, the provision of mobile evidence collection kits, and the establishment of more responsive community-based reporting systems. In light of these findings, the study recommends the implementation of focused training programs and strategic infrastructure improvements aimed at strengthening investigative efficiency, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and improving overall community safety.
