Abstract
Cafés have become popular places for meeting, relaxing, and studying, making environmental design an important strategy for attracting customers. Dining ambiance—including lighting, music, noise, décor, layout, cleanliness, temperature, and scent—shapes the overall atmosphere and may influence customers’ comfort, emotions, behavior, and evaluation of the dining experience. This study examined how these ambient elements related to customer satisfaction at Figaro Coffee in Quezon City. The study examined customers’ perceptions of dining ambiance at Figaro Coffee in Trinoma, Quezon City. It focused on lighting, music, noise, cleanliness, seating, layout, interior design, and décor. Survey data were analyzed to identify patterns in customer experience and satisfaction and to determine whether dining ambiance was significantly related to satisfaction. The findings were intended to inform possible improvements to the café environment. Respondents generally perceived the café environment, service, and food presentation positively. Lighting, seating, décor, and noise management were associated with comfort and emotional engagement, while attentive service and food presentation contributed to perceptions that customers’ needs and expectations were met. Overall, respondents described the café as satisfying, inviting, and conducive to repeat visits. The findings suggest that dining ambiance at Figaro Coffee was associated with customer comfort, mood, and satisfaction. Lighting, music, cleanliness, seating, and décor contributed to a relaxing and welcoming environment, although noise and crowding could reduce the quality of the experience. Careful environmental management and design may support customer well-being, favorable impressions, and loyalty.
