Abstract

Maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards has become a fundamental requirement in hospitality operations, particularly in resort establishments that accommodate large volumes of guests. This study evaluates the implementation of hygiene and safety protocol practices at North Riverside Resort and Waterpark in Meycauayan. It seeks to determine how both employees and guests assess the resort’s compliance with established standards in terms of general hygiene and safety policies, employee hygiene practices, sanitation and cleaning procedures, food handling and preparation safety, guest health and safety measures, and monitoring and continuous improvement. By examining these dimensions, the research aims to provide a basis for strengthening operational standards and promoting a safer resort environment. The study employed a quantitative-comparative research design using a structured survey questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. A total of 30 respondents, consisting of 15 employees and 15 guests, were selected through purposive sampling. The instrument gathered demographic information and measured the level of implementation of hygiene and safety practices using a four-point Likert scale. Statistical treatments included frequency, percentage, weighted mean, ranking, and independent t-test to analyze implementation levels and determine differences in assessment between the two respondent groups. The findings indicate that hygiene and safety protocols at the resort are generally implemented across the identified areas. Both employees and guests provided comparable assessments, and statistical analysis revealed no significant difference between their evaluations. However, minor challenges were noted in maintaining consistency and monitoring during peak operational periods. The results highlight the importance of sustained supervision, regular staff training, and systematic monitoring to ensure continuous compliance with hygiene and safety standards. Strengthening internal evaluation mechanisms and reinforcing staff accountability can further enhance service reliability and guest confidence. By prioritizing consistent implementation, the resort can maintain a clean, safe, and well-managed environment that supports guest satisfaction and long-term operational sustainability.
