Abstract

This study examined the dining experiences and satisfaction of family customers at PlayTown Kids Café, focusing on its child-friendly amenities and services. It assessed child-friendly provisions in terms of food offerings, activity and play areas, safety and cleanliness, and staff friendliness. It also evaluated family dining satisfaction based on service quality, restaurant reputation, and revisit intention, identified challenges encountered by families, and determined the relationship between amenities and satisfaction. Using a quantitative descriptive design, data were collected from 50 family customers selected through simple random sampling using a validated questionnaire. Weighted mean, ranking, and Pearson product-moment correlation were used for analysis. Findings showed that child-friendly amenities and services were rated high, particularly staff friendliness, safety and cleanliness, and play areas. Family dining satisfaction was also high, especially in service quality and restaurant reputation, which supported revisit intention. However, challenges such as high meal costs, limited children’s menu options, long waiting times, and minor safety concerns were reported. A significant positive relationship was found between child-friendly amenities and family dining satisfaction (r = 0.7324, p < 0.00001). Overall, quality child-friendly facilities and services significantly enhance family satisfaction and encourage repeat visits.
