Abstract

This study assessed reproductive-health literacy (RHL) among Psychology students and examined their interest in a web-based resource for self-awareness. It addressed possible gaps in reproductive-health knowledge, misconceptions, stigma, and access to accurate information. A descriptive design was used to assess reproductive-health literacy and its relationship with demographic factors among 340 Psychology students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. From a population of 2,182, disproportionate stratified random sampling selected 85 students from each year level (1st–4th year). An expert-validated questionnaire assessed demographics, knowledge of reproductive-health concepts, including STI/HIV awareness, and attitudes toward reproductive health. The study shows that respondents generally demonstrated moderate to high awareness, while misconceptions and stigma continued to affect open discussion and decision-making. Students reportedly held positive attitudes toward reproductive-health education and expressed interest in interactive, privacy-protected web-based resources. Based on the descriptive findings, the researchers proposed Usap RH, a web-based platform containing educational content, reminders, and self-monitoring features.
