Integration of Drop FITT for Developing Physical Fitness among Grade 11 HUMSS Students at Bestlink College of the Philippines

Abstract
This study evaluated Drop FITT as an instructional material for developing cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility among Grade 11 HUMSS students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. It also considered motivation, participation, time constraints, exercise space, and comfort during group activities. A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design was used with 60 respondents selected through stratified sampling from 194 Grade 11 HUMSS students enrolled in academic year 2025. Males and females were equally represented. Standardized physical-fitness tests and a Likert-scale survey gathered data on fitness levels, attitudes, and motivational factors. The result shows significant improvements in cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, flexibility, and, to a moderate extent, muscular strength after Drop FITT activities. Peer participation and individual contribution were identified as strong motivators, with no reported gender differences. Challenges included limited time because of schoolwork, insufficient exercise space, and discomfort when exercising in groups. Drop FITT may be used as a supplementary physical-fitness activity with clear instructions, motivational support, appropriate space, and attention to students’ comfort. The absence of numerical outcomes and specified statistical tests prevents verification of the claimed significance and degree of effectiveness.
