Abstract

This study evaluated Arte Mo ’To, an interactive instructional material for Dulaang Filipino, in relation to students’ comprehension, performance skills, and appreciation of staging and analyzing plays. The study used a quantitative research design involving fifty (50) third-year Filipino-major students selected through cluster sampling. Participants completed a survey assessing their understanding of Dulaang Filipino after using Arte Mo ’To. The original Methods section also asserted the material’s effectiveness but did not describe a comparison group or pretest–posttest procedure. Respondents perceived Arte Mo ’To as an effective instructional tool for acting skills, including emotional expression, character portrayal, and interpretation of dramatic situations. Students also reported strong appreciation and engagement with dramatic themes and creative approaches involving symbolism, visual arts, music, and movement. Genuine emotional expression was the highest-rated recommendation, reported as a 90% improvement in the use of Arte Mo ’To. Students perceived Arte Mo ’To as supporting their understanding of drama, performance skills, classroom collaboration, and interest in Dulaang Filipino. The researchers recommend exploring its use in other areas of literature and arts education. Because the design and comparison procedures were not clearly described, the reported impact should be interpreted cautiously.
