Abstract

This study evaluated the Goal Getter Wheel for teaching career awareness among selected Grade 12 HUMSS students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The intervention was intended to strengthen students’ self-awareness, goal-setting abilities, knowledge of career options, decision-making skills, and motivation to pursue realistic goals aligned with their interests and capabilities. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving two groups: one exposed to Goal Getter Wheel activities and another taught through traditional career awareness instruction. Pretests and posttests were administered to measure changes in career awareness, goal clarity, and decision-making readiness. The participants were Grade 12 HUMSS students selected through purposive sampling. Data gathered from both groups were analyzed to determine significant differences in performance and awareness levels before and after the intervention. Most respondents were aged 16–17 years (60%), followed by those aged 18–19 years (36%) and 20 years or older (4%). Females comprised 64% of the sample and males 36%. The mean score increased from 17.90 on the pretest to 21.41 on the posttest. The t-test result (t = 4.70, p = 0.00002) was below the reported significance level (α = 0.05), leading to rejection of the null hypothesis. The results indicate improved career-awareness scores after use of the Goal Getter Wheel.
