Effectiveness of RealixAR in Learning Force and Motion among Grade 3 Students at Tandang Sora Elementary School

Abstract
This study investigated the effectiveness of RealixAR in teaching force and motion to Grade 3 students at Tandang Sora Elementary School. As digital technologies become more common in education, augmented-reality applications may provide interactive and personalized learning experiences for students who experience difficulty with science concepts. The study examined how the e-learning material supported understanding, information retention, and access to learning beyond the classroom. The study employed a true experimental design with cluster sampling and involved 154 Grade 3 students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through a pretest, posttest, survey questionnaires, and a checklist of benefits and challenges related to RealixAR, including learning effort, complex-task completion, and distraction. Analyses included frequency and percentage, Likert-scale interpretation, the Shapiro–Wilk test, the Mann–Whitney U test, and the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Most Grade 3 learners (88%) were aged 8–10 years, and 53% were female. Before the intervention, both the control and experimental groups demonstrated low proficiency, with pretest means of 3.44 and 3.87, respectively. At posttest, the experimental group that used RealixAR achieved a mean of 12.38, interpreted as very high proficiency, compared with 4.30 in the control group. The Mann–Whitney U test indicated a statistically significant difference (z = -10.495, p < 0.000). The findings indicate that RealixAR supported students’ motivation, comprehension, and engagement. The researchers proposed guidelines that included clear instructions, curriculum integration, active participation, and follow-up activities connecting science concepts with practical applications. Effective implementation also requires teacher proficiency, device accessibility, and careful integration of digital tools.
