Abstract

Sari-sari stores play an important role in local communities, but many still rely on manual recording of sales and inventory. This often leads to errors, disorganized records, and difficulty in monitoring business performance. With the availability of digital tools, point-of-sale (POS) applications can help improve small business operations. One example is Loyverse POS, a free POS application designed for small retail stores. This study aimed to assess the utilization of the Loyverse POS app among 30 sari-sari stores in Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City, toward achieving a more organized business system. The study used a quantitative descriptive research design. Thirty (30) sari-sari store owners who were using or had experience using the Loyverse POS app were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a validated survey questionnaire. Frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and ranking were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that the Loyverse POS app is very effective in sales tracking and recording, helping store owners review daily sales, reduce errors, and save time. It is effective in inventory management by accurately tracking stock levels and preventing shortages or overstocking. The report generation feature also helped store owners monitor business performance and make better decisions. In terms of usability, respondents strongly agreed that the app is easy to install, easy to learn, and user-friendly. The interface is simple and suitable even for first-time users. The app was also rated as reliable and stable during daily operations. The most common problem encountered was internet connectivity, although many respondents reported no major difficulties. The study concludes that the Loyverse POS application helps sari-sari store owners become more organized and efficient in managing their businesses. By improving sales recording, inventory monitoring, and report generation, the app supports better decision-making and business control. Despite minor challenges such as internet issues, the overall experience of users is positive. The study recommends encouraging more sari-sari store owners to adopt digital POS systems and providing basic training to enhance utilization.
