Abstract
This study examined how team-building serves as a catalyst for organizational effectiveness in a signage and advertising company in Caloocan City. It investigated the relationship between team-building activities and organizational effectiveness, particularly in terms of culture and values alignment and the identifying employees’ training needs. Guided by Kurt Lewin’s Field Theory and Change Model, team-building was examined in relation to communication, collaboration, and employee engagement. A descriptive-correlational quantitative design was used involving 23 employees. Data were gathered using a validated survey questionnaire and analyzed through frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and Pearson’s correlation coefficient to assess team-building practices and determine their relationship with organizational effectiveness. Results revealed that employees generally perceived team-building activities as effective. Frequency (CWM = 3.31), Type (CWM = 3.47), and Quality (CWM = 3.33) were rated Strongly Agree. Key indicators included improved collaboration (WM = 3.52), strengthened trust and camaraderie (WM = 3.57), and meaningful interactions fostering unity (WM = 3.48). Challenges identified were lack of time or heavey workload (f = 14), inconsistent planning (f = 9), and limited budget (f = 8). Correlation analysis revealed a significant moderate positive relationship between team-building and organizational effectiveness (r = 0.61, p = 0.0001, p <.05), resulting in the rejection of the null hypothesis. The findings indicate that structured and well-aligned team-building initiatives are associated with stronger collaboration, reinforcement of organizational values, and employee development. However, effectiveness depends on consistent planning, adequate resources, and manageable workloads. A practical program structure was proposed to address barriers and strengthen implementation, offering insights for small and medium-sized enterprises aiming to improve internal cohesion and performance.
