Abstract

This study focused on quantifying the impact of material deficits on project completion at Oikos Sustainable Solutions Inc., a manufacturer of biodegradable bags made from cassava and corn. It highlights how specialized supply chains and unpredictable agricultural cycles create shortages that lead to project delays, budget overruns, and reduced operational efficiency. It aims to determine the delays in systematic challenges by providing a data-driven foundation for understanding the organizational impact of resource scarcity. The study utilized a descriptive research design and purposive sampling to survey 15 employees at Oikos Sustainable Solutions Inc., regarding material deficit. data were collected through a four-part Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using weighted mean and p-values to determine the statistical relationship between shortages and project completion. The findings specifically highlight that inventory accuracy is high, external logistics issues and late deliveries are the most critical factors driving project delays, budget overruns, and decreased workforce productivity. This study suggests that Oikos must prioritize improving coordination with suppliers and more procurement planning. By developing more resilient supply chain strategies and addressing these external constraints, the organization can better mitigate material deficit and improve overall project delivery performance. These findings underscore the critical need for Oikos Sustainable Solutions Inc. to strengthen its external supplier coordination and procurement planning to mitigate the disruptive impact of supply chain weaknesses on project timelines. By addressing these external logistical constraints and building more resilient resource strategies, the organization can significantly reduce delays and enhance its overall project delivery performance.
