Abstract

This study examined the relationship between traditional selling practices and the sales performance of phone accessory stores in Novaliches, Quezon City. Specifically, it analyzed how traditional selling practices in customer service, pricing, and product quality relate to sales performance indicators such as customer retention, sales consistency, and product turnover. The study employed a descriptive-correlational design and used purposive sampling, with 10 store owners as respondents. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using frequency and percentage, weighted mean, Pearson’s r correlation, and ranking. Findings revealed that traditional selling practices are strongly associated with sales performance, particularly in customer service and product quality, both interpreted as Strongly Agree. Pricing also showed a strong association, highlighting the importance of flexible and customer-oriented strategies. In terms of sales performance, customer retention and product turnover were rated Strongly Agree, while sales consistency was rated Agree, indicating moderate monthly stability. Major challenges identified were strong competition from online sellers, declining walk-in customers, and lack of marketing strategies. Results showed a statistically significant relationship between traditional selling practices and sales performance (r = 0.67, p = 0.03), indicating a moderate positive correlation and leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. The study concludes that traditional selling practices are positively associated with sales performance. Strengthening customer service, maintaining product quality, and applying strategic pricing may support business outcomes. It is recommended that store owners integrate online store and marketing action plan strategies to enhance traditional selling effectiveness.
