Abstract
This study assessed the relationship between working conditions and productivity among delivery personnel of Flash Express in Sauyo, Quezon City. The research was anchored on the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) framework, which describes relationships among job demands, organizational resources, employee well-being, and performance outcomes. Specifically, the study examined working conditions in terms of benefits, protection, and workload, and measured productivity based on work efficiency, professionalism, and speed of deliveries. The primary objective was to determine whether a significant relationship exists between working conditions and employee productivity within a logistics company. A descriptive-quantitative research design was employed to systematically analyze the variables of the study. One hundred (100) delivery personnel were selected from a total population of 162 through purposive sampling. data were gathered using a validated researcher-made questionnaire composed of structured items addressing working conditions and productivity indicators. Statistical tools used in the analysis included weighted mean to determine the level of assessment and Pearson Product–Moment Correlation Coefficient to test the relationship between variables. Findings revealed that respondents were generally very satisfied with their working conditions in terms of benefits, safety protection, and workload management. Similarly, productivity indicators, including work efficiency, professionalism, and delivery speed, were rated at a very satisfactory level. The results further indicated a highly positive and statistically significant relationship between working conditions and productivity (r = 0.657, p <.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis. This demonstrates that improvements in working conditions are strongly associated with increased employee productivity. The study concludes that supportive organizational practices, including fair benefits, strengthened safety measures, and manageable workloads, are significantly associated with higher delivery performance. Addressing operational challenges such as traffic delays, workload distribution, and communication gaps may further improve efficiency and service quality. Overall, maintaining favorable working conditions is essential in promoting employee motivation, sustaining productivity, and ensuring long-term operational effectiveness within logistics organizations.
