Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of curfew activities in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City particularly those committed by the minors. This will help to improve safety and build relationship between curfew enforcement and community. This will help to suppress crime, arrest violators and prevent potential offenders. Guided by RA 9344 and local ordinance SP-2031, S. 2014, it examines implementation, community participation, challenges, and solutions, highlighting shared responsibility in promoting youth protection, safety, and peace. This research study used a quantitative method design A structured survey questionnaire was used to collect data from forty (40) respondents. Including ten (10) barangay authorities and thirty (30) people of Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City. Selected through Random and Convenient sampling technique. Data were analyzed, using frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The result provided a clear difference between Barangay Officials and residents in their assessment of public safety, regular patrols, and ordinance implementation. The Finding reveal that the majority of the respondent those aged 51–65, are more actively involved or concerned about participating in reduction strategy through curfew activities. The ANOVA show the official have varied priorities in safety measures, while residents report consistent experiences. Dialogue and evaluation of specific programs are recommended to align administrative focus with community needs and perceptions effectively. Research reveals the Crime Reduction Strategy Through Curfew Activities. Believe that public safety, regular patrols and implementation of barangay ordinance help to reduce crime and keep the community peace. The barangay officials might have different priorities, residents have same positive experience, by Constantly listening to the community and encouraging active participations, the curfew program can remain effective.
