Abstract

Community policing promote collaboration and cooperation between law enforcement and residents to enhance public trust, peace and order. In barangay payatas, the effectiveness of police accountability remain a vital concern. This study assesses the police accountability of community policing by examining the responsiveness, credibility, transparency, and public trust. The finding aim to provide a recommendation that may strengthen the police and community relation and participation to enhance public safety, peace and order within barangay Payatas. This research study utilizes a quantitative descriptive research design to assess the police accountability in Barangay Payatas. Using a self-made survey questionnaire to gather the data of 60 Respondents ( 40 residents, 10 barangay official, and 10 police officer), selected through purposive and convenience sampling technique. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). the result provided the gap and significant among public trust, enforcement, and availability of resources to the accountability of police community policing. The finding reveal that majority of respondents were between the age of (36-45), male, single, and college graduate. The ANOVA show the significancy of public trust, law enforcement, and resources affected the police community policing accountability while promoting transparency and responsiveness to more inclusive local governance. The result reveal that the community policing in Barangay Payatas, shows highly accountability to reassure the public trust. The enforcement demonstrate a responsiveness to their action, and availability of resources show moderate in accountability, that can be improve and promote positive police and community relation.
