This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the curfew ordinance in reducing crimes involving minors in Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City. Juvenile delinquency continues to pose challenges in urban communities, prompting local authorities to implement preventive measures such as curfew ordinances. These ordinances restrict minors from being in public spaces during late-night hours to reduce exposure to criminal opportunities. The study specifically examined the level of enforcement and monitoring practices, awareness and compliance of minors and their guardians, and the support from local authorities and the community. It also identified problems affecting the ordinance's effectiveness and proposed strategies for improvement. The study used a descriptive quantitative research design with 60 respondents, including barangay officials and tanods, police officers, and community members, and collected data through a validated survey questionnaire analyzed using frequency, percentage, weighted mean, and ranking. Anchored on Routine Activity Theory, the research views minors as potential offenders or vulnerable targets, while law enforcement, barangay officials, parents, and community members act as capable guardians in preventing crime. The results show that respondents strongly agreed that the curfew ordinance is effective particularly in terms of minors and guardians awareness and compliance while highlighting issues such as limited awareness, weak enforcement, and poor parental supervision, and recommending stronger coordination, better information dissemination, and greater community involvement. The study concludes that while the curfew ordinance effectively helps reduce juvenile crimes in Barangay Pasong Tamo, its success depends on strict enforcement, greater public awareness, and active cooperation among guardians, community members, and local authorities.
