Abstract
This study assessed the role of Bureau of Fire Protection officers in strengthening fire prevention campaigns in Barangay San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City. It focused on their responsibilities in promoting preparedness, public awareness, fire safety practices, and appropriate emergency response. The study used a quantitative descriptive design. The respondents comprised 5 fire protection officers, 5 local government representatives, 10 barangay volunteers, and 30 residents of Barangay San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through percentage and weighted mean. The main problems identified were insufficient funding, personnel, and equipment for broad fire prevention campaigns. Respondents proposed stronger partnerships with local government units, nongovernmental organizations, and private organizations to obtain additional funding and resources. The study recommends intensifying community-based fire safety education, conducting regular drills and inspections, improving coordination with barangay officials, and securing adequate resources to address gaps in awareness, participation, and enforcement of fire safety regulations.
