Abstract

The increase in theft incidents has encouraged local governments to install closed-circuit television cameras in public areas. CCTV footage may assist in monitoring activities, identifying suspects, preserving evidence, and discouraging offending behavior. However, theft may continue despite surveillance. This study examined stakeholder perceptions of CCTV surveillance in relation to theft prevention and community safety in Bulacan. The study used a descriptive quantitative survey design. Residents, barangay officials, police officers, and CCTV operators in Bulacan answered a structured researcher-made questionnaire concerning their perceptions and experiences with CCTV surveillance. The source results section does not report empirical findings. It states only that data from residents, officials, police officers, and CCTV operators were presented descriptively and analyzed to identify trends and patterns concerning theft incidents and CCTV use.
