Abstract

This study aims to explore the development paths and enhancement strategies for musical literacy and application ability among students majoring in preschool education. Using a quantitative research approach, the "Musical Literacy Statistical Scale" and the "Musical Literacy Application Ability Statistical Scale" were administered to 479 students from Inner Mongolia Nationalities Preschool Teachers College. The findings indicate that while students performed well in overall musical literacy and application ability, significant deficiencies were observed in areas such as musical structure analysis, cross-cultural understanding, and creative practice. A significant positive correlation was identified between musical literacy and application ability. The study concluded that systematic improvement of students' musical literacy and application ability could be achieved through strategies such as stimulating student initiative, strengthening task-driven and scenario-based teaching, increasing practical operational training, promoting interdisciplinary integration, and refining process evaluation mechanisms. It was recommended that future teaching emphasize the integration of learning and application and incorporate immediate feedback and diversified evaluation to foster comprehensive musical competence among students.
