Abstract
This descriptive-correlational study explored the existing challenges, necessary improvements, and perceived innovative AI-driven teaching strategies within university piano education. The research involved 386 music educators and students from university music education institutions, utilizing a structured survey instrument to gather comprehensive data and ultimately develop an AI-Based Strategy Framework for skills training enhancement. Data analysis, including descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation, revealed that piano courses are generally facing a moderate level of challenge (Mean = 2.52), specifically regarding the integration of theory and practice and the availability of teaching resources. The perceived need for suggested improvements was also moderate (Mean = 2.53), while the acceptance of AI-driven strategies was neutral (Mean = 2.50). Crucially, statistical analysis indicated a highly significant and strong positive relationship between the Suggested Improvements and the Perceived Innovative Teaching Strategies (r = 0.642). Conversely, the relationship between the magnitude of current challenges and the acceptance of AI strategies was found to be insignificant. The study concludes that stakeholders acknowledge the moderate difficulty of current pedagogical issues and strongly believe that leveraging AI-driven strategies is essential for realizing necessary improvements. This strong correlation demonstrates that the forward-looking desire for pedagogical advancement is the primary driver for accepting innovative technology rather than merely addressing immediate problems. Based on these findings, the study proposes an AI-Based Strategy Framework that prioritizes curriculum optimization, the integration of targeted AI tools, and specific policy recommendations. This framework is designed to proactively ensure future pedagogical excellence and enhance the cultivation of creativity in piano education.
