Abstract
Fire incidents remain a major public safety concern in the Philippines despite the implementation of fire safety laws and programs. Although the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) actively conducts prevention and education initiatives, many communities still experience fires due to limited awareness, lack of preparedness, and unsafe practices. Studies show that fire safety programs are most effective when they go beyond simply providing information. Regular drills, hands-on training, and interactive learning significantly improve preparedness and encourage safer behavior. While many individuals have basic knowledge of fire prevention, gaps remain in practical skills such as using firefighting equipment and responding during emergencies. The study uses a quantitative descriptive research design to evaluate the effectiveness of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Fire Safety Education and Awareness Programs in Barangay Lawang Pari, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. It focuses on measuring respondents’ demographics, level of awareness, participation, and perceptions of program effectiveness in improving community safety and preparedness. A total of 50 respondents participated, including 30 community residents, 10 barangay officials, and 10 BFP personnel. The researchers applied purposive sampling to select individuals with relevant knowledge and experience regarding BFP programs, ensuring meaningful and reliable data. The study evaluated the effectiveness of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) fire safety education programs in Barangay Lawang Pari. Most respondents were older, experienced individuals who have lived or worked in the community for many years. Overall, they found the programs effective, especially in improving fire safety knowledge and delivering organized and engaging activities. However, they noted that training sessions are not always conducted regularly, which needs improvement. The study assessed the effectiveness of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) fire safety education and awareness programs in the City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, focusing on community perception, program impact, and challenges. The respondents represented various demographic groups, with most being aged 50 and above (46%), slightly more males (54%) than females, and varying levels of education and residency.

The Ascendens Asia Singapore - Bestlink College of the Philippines Journal of Multidisciplinary Research Abstracts (AASGBCPJMRA) is a collection of abstracts of research papers presented during Multidisciplinary Research Fests (MRFs) mainly organised by Ascendens Asia Singapore as well as other research conferences in collaboration with various institutions and learned societies. MRFs provide opportunities for collaboration with a common prime objective of creating platforms for students, faculty, staff, and researchers alike from different institutions to interrelate/interact with their counterparts. MRFs are expected to aid and promote personality development and critical thinking as participants engage themselves in constructive discussions with other participating researchers.
