Abstract

Run’s Dried Fish Store is located in Tigbe, Norzagaray, Bulacan. It is currently relies on manual operations, particularly in its inventory management. Due to this kind of operational setting, the store experiences difficulty in managing dried fish inventory. Since inventory management is one of the integral parts of every business operation, it was decided to replace the manual process with a systematic process. Therefore, this study aims to enhance the inventory management of Run’s Dried Fish Store by developing an Inventory Management System (IMS). This study utilized a quantitative research design under the applied research approach. The respondents were composed of the store owner and the employees. Data were gathered using a structured survey questionnaire that measured the level of agreement towards the developed IMS. The gathered data were analyzed using a descriptive statistics approach, consisting of frequency and percentage distribution, together with the mean average. In addition, a range of scores was used to interpret each mean score. The key findings showed a high degree of agreement in IMS's real-time inventory monitoring that ensures accurate stock levels through automatic updates, inventory categorization to prevent inventory labeling errors, proactive data report generation that is clear and reliable for decision-making, storing and retrieving inventory records for improved accessibility, and data security that protects confidential inventory information from unauthorized access. Furthermore, the calculated composite mean score of the combined mean scores of each statement of the problem showed a high agreement, indicating that the developed IMS is a reliable and effective tool that significantly enhances inventory management. The results indicates that the IMS promotes real-time inventory monitoring, ensures accurate inventory categorization, generates inventory reports, securely store and faster retrieval of records, and strong system security. Overall, the IMS resolved inefficiencies and achieved the study's main objective of enhancing inventory management of Run's Dried Fish Store. These findings corresponds with the existing studies that highlights the importance of using IMS in enhancing inventory management of stores that sells perishable goods such as dried fish store. To further investigate the findings, future studies were recommended to integrate new features and technologies.

The Ascendens Asia Singapore - Bestlink College of the Philippines Journal of Multidisciplinary Research Abstracts (AASGBCPJMRA) is a collection of abstracts of research papers presented during Multidisciplinary Research Fests (MRFs) mainly organised by Ascendens Asia Singapore as well as other research conferences in collaboration with various institutions and learned societies. MRFs provide opportunities for collaboration with a common prime objective of creating platforms for students, faculty, staff, and researchers alike from different institutions to interrelate/interact with their counterparts. MRFs are expected to aid and promote personality development and critical thinking as participants engage themselves in constructive discussions with other participating researchers.
