Abstract

In a rapidly changing business environment, inventory management is important in improving efficiency and accuracy in daily business activities. A small and medium enterprises (SMEs), such as Misis Tako Business, often encounter difficulties in maintaining organized and reliable inventory records when relying on manual inventory processes. At Misis Tako, inventory tracking and recording were performed manually, resulting in inaccurate data, delays in processing, recording errors, and inefficiencies in managing stock levels. These challenges negatively affected inventory control, cost management, and overall business operations. To address these issues, this study focused on the development and evaluation of an Inventory Management System tailored for Misis Tako Business. This study employed a descriptive quantitative research design to assess the effectiveness of the proposed system in improving inventory management processes. The respondents were selected using purposive sampling, involving the business owner and staff who were directly engaged in inventory-related activities. Data were gathered through interviews and structured survey questionnaires to identify system requirements and to evaluate user satisfaction, system performance, and operational efficiency after implementation. The findings revealed that the proposed Inventory Management System significantly improved inventory accuracy and efficiency. Survey results indicated high user satisfaction, with a weighted mean of 3.86 (Strongly Agree) for maintaining accurate and updated inventory information. Respondents also agreed that the system reduced wastage caused by excess or expired inventory and supported optimal stock level maintenance, both receiving a weighted mean of 3.43 (Agree). Moreover, the system minimized recording errors and simplified inventory tasks, resulting in faster and more reliable inventory operations. Data analysis further showed that the system effectively integrated inventory processes, improved access to inventory information, and assisted the business in aligning inventory levels with actual demand patterns. The results of the study demonstrate that the developed Inventory Management System effectively addressed the challenges encountered at Misis Tako Business. These results confirmed that the Inventory Management system contributes to improving inventory accuracy, streamlining stock management, and enhancing the efficiency of operations for Misis Tako Business.
